1996 Pierce Four Wheel Drive Heavy Rescue Truck
Designed to enhance the Creve Coeur Fire Protection District's
capabilities in firefighting, E.M.S. and specialized rescue.
This Unit has a 25,000 watt generator with a thirty foot high
7500 watt light tower. It carries mass casualty medical
supplies and oxygen designed to allow Paramedics to treat up
to 21 victims.
It also is equipped with state of the art
specialized equipment to aid personnel in the following:
- firefighting
- vehicle extrication
- high angle rope rescue(pictures)
- swift water, static water and ice rescue
- confined space and cave-in rescues
- building ventilation
- illuminating emergency scenes
This Unit is equipped with the newest technology in fire and
rescue -- the "IRIS", an infrared imaging camera recently
shown on Channel 2 TV and Dateline NBC.
