The Creve Coeur Fire Protection District offers the district's residents a "Vial of Life" at no charge. The "Vial of Life" is a life saving program to provide E.M.S. providers important medical information if you are found unconscious or unable to speak. The "Vial of Life" can help the paramedics obtain a complete medical history and medication list for the hospital.
The "Vial of Life" is a prepared Medical History and Information Form filled out by you and your family before a medical emergency takes place. The completed form is placed back into it's vial and stored in your refrigerator. The "Vial of Life" is placed in the refrigerator, because if you are found unconscious, the paramedics are trained to look in the refrigerator to see if you take insulin. By looking in the refrigerator for insulin, the paramedic will discover your "Vial of Life" and will have all your medical history, medications and other information needed.
